

Dr. Blaine M. Sutton, PhD, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 at the Abington Hospice in Warminster, PA at the age of 91. He was born in Union City, Indiana on January 23, 1921 to Claude and Esther Mote-Sutton. A longtime resident of Hatboro, he had been residing at Ann's Choice in Warminster with his wife Shirley at the time of his passing.
Dr. Sutton was a chemist with Smith, Kline & French (now GlaxoSmithKline) in Philadelphia, where his was instrumental in the development of the use of Oral Gold for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. He received his BS and postgraduate degrees from Purdue University. He was also a member in the American Society of Chemistry.
Blaine was a member of the Huntingdon Valley United Methodist Church where he had served the church as a Communion Stewart; was a member of the Men’s Prayer Group and was also the former Financial Secretary.
Blaine was the beloved husband Shirley E. Vaughan Sutton for 66 years wonderful years. He was preceded in death by his sister Helen and his brother Paul, who is survived by his wife Janet. He is also survived by nieces Lena Moore and Trudy Davis and nephews Steve and Scott Sutton, and many great nieces and nephews.
Blaine was a great man and very devoted to his wife and extended family, all of whom will miss him dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to his Memorial Service at the Huntingdon Valley United Methodist Church, 3470 Huntingdon Pike , Huntingdon Valley, PA at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 7, 2012.
