Catherine Gioquindo

An only child, Kathy was born in Athens, Greece, to the late Panagiotis Kentavrou and Maria Bairaktaris.

In 1956, her life changed forever when she met her soulmate, Paul, on a sunlit Greek beach where he was stationed with the United States Air Force. They married shortly after and went on to share 64 wonderful years together.

After Paul’s retirement, they traveled extensively across the United States and around the world. They treasured their seasonal routines, spending sunny winters in Florida and summers in Cape May.

Kathy was a true homemaker in every sense—a Martha Stewart in her own right. She had an talent for turning any space into a warm, beautiful haven. An exceptional cook and avid gardener, she spent countless hours knitting, sewing, and canning. Her keen eye for design shone through her home decor and her cherished collections, particularly her beloved Royal Doulton collection.

A passionate admirer of British royalty, Kathy held a deep appreciation for tradition, elegance, and history. Above all, her world revolved around her family, whom she loved dearly, even when they drove her crazy. Though her heart longed for Paul after his passing five years ago, her grace, spirit, and legacy remained an anchor for those she left behind.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul J. Gioquindo, and her daughter, Marie Lally.

Kathy is survived by her children, Marianne Iaquinto and Paul M. Gioquindo (Debra); her grandchildren Christopher Iaquinto, Jennifer Williams (Nelson), Michael Gioquindo (Tori), Mariel Lapp (Rob), and Melanie Gioquindo.

Kathy will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Paul, at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
