Clara was my piano teacher back in the 1940s. I regret to say that I was never compliant with my practicing so failed to succeed from her masterful skills. After living outside of Pennsylvania since high school graduation in 1956, I returned for my 50th HS reunion and met Clara again while searching for her former neighbor Charlie Rich. Since then I have enjoyed dropping in on her whenever I came to Southampton. Clara leaves a legacy as a consistent and brilliant civic presence. Her light will continue to shine in Southampton.

Aunt Clara's picture, smiling, really captures her. She always had a genuine interest and a smile for our family, children and our lives... "come see me!" was sure to be said... Our family will miss her dearly.

Aunt Clara gave me an adjustable measuring spoon for my bridal shower over 25 years ago. I was sad when it recently broke because I thought of her every time I used it. Happily, I've learned that its hard to undo a long-held habit. When I reach for my new measuring spoon, I still think of her.
We will all miss her warm presence.

Aunt Clara will be missed. She was genuinely interested in knowing what was going on in my life, and she had a knack of remembering everything!

We remember with great happiness how Clara enjoyed her "adopted grandchildren" and always made time for them and us when she visited Thunder Bay.

We remember Clara for her extraordinary kindness to her "adopted" grandsons on the few occasions when she was able to be with them here in Thunder Bay. One of them, Rowan, has a few words of remembrance.
From Rowan Allaire (Grandson of Frank and Doris): Although I am only 9 years old, I know how sad it can be when something comes to an end. My first season in minor hockey just ended and my room is still filled with all the memories. So I think it must be sad for you in your house too.
