April 10, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital. She was born February 2, 1929.
Born in Philadelphia, the daughter of the late Sophia (Dombrosky) and
Stephen Juraky. Dot had been a longtime resident of Southampton, Pa.
She would often speak lovingly of her family farm in Center Square, NJ., as
her childhood “home”.
In, 1974, she founded the Bucks County School of Beauty Culture Inc. and
worked up until Labor Day 2014. She impacted the lives of many students
and graduates over her 42 years with the school. During her accomplished
past, she was active with the Bucks County Association for Retarded
Citizens, American Business Women’s Association, Eastern Star, Board of
Directors of the Lower Bucks County Chamber of Commerce, Executive
Director of the Miss Bucks County Scholarship Pageant, Christian Women’s
Association, The Church of the Redemption and one of the founding
members of the Maplewood Swim Club. Dot loved to play pinochle and
gathered monthly to play with her close friends.
Dorothy is predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Alexander (Al),
her high school sweetheart, by her daughter Deborah (Debbie) and her inlaws,
Alexander and Helen Wallin (Baumeister). Dot was the loving mother
of Stephen (Gayle), Gayle Edwards (Mark) and Wendy Showmaker (Mark).
She is survived by her sister in-law Carol and was beloved Mimi to
grandchildren, Scott, Melissa (Jason), Meghan, Ryan, Alex, Nikki, Carli,
Randy, Ginny, Peggy, and great grandchildren Ava and Brandon. Adopted mother to Karen
Brogan-Rotolo and Anita Fleck-Cooke, aka “the favorite”.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 25 at the Church of the
Redemption, 1101 Second Street Pike, Southampton, 18966. Family and
friends will be received starting at 9:30 am until 11:30 am at which time
the memorial service will begin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions
in Dorothy’s name may be made to the Church of the Redemption at the
address above.
