Eleanor I Ankenbrand passed away on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at the Rose Gardens at Ann’s Choice. She was 78 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Irwin and Emily Lauff Matz. She was a resident of Warminster since 1967. She had lived at Ann’s Choice for the past 9 years.
Mrs. Ankenbrand was retired employee of Continental Interiors Ltd. in Hatboro.
Eleanor was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Southampton. She was an excellent seamstress and had made her daughter’s wedding dresses. She enjoyed cooking for Meals on Wheels, and walking. She was a member of Post 800 American Legion Auxiliary in Huntingdon Valley, PA.
Eleanor was the beloved wife of Howard for 57 years. She was the devoted mother of Kathy Cochlin (Robert) of West Chester, Joyce Lacy (Patrick) of Wappingers Falls, NY, Glenn H. Ankenbrand (Gail) of Stevensville, MD, and Carol Burns (Craig) of Horsham. She was the loving grandmother of Karyn Cochlin, Kelly Kachelries, Mark Lacy, Megan Lacy, Zachary Ankenbrand, Crystal Ankenbrand, Chandler Ankenbrand, and Kodi Burns; great grandmother of Benjamin Robert Kachelries. She was the sister of Doris A. Hoelzle (the late Irwin) of Ann’s Choice, and the late Margaret Matz.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Friday, January 4th from 9:30 to 11 AM at the Chapel of Ann’s Choice, 30000 Ann’s Choice Way, Warminster, PA 18974. Her service will follow at 11 AM.
Her interment will take place in Forest Hills Cemetery in Huntingdon Valley.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ann’s Choice Scholarship Fund.
