Florence Mary Gerhart

Florence M. Gerhart died on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at her residence. She was 81 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, she was the loving daughter of Francis and Florence Auwaerter Hauer. Florence was a resident of Altoona, PA and formerly of the Philadelphia area.

Mrs. Gerhart was a retired secretary with Aetna Insurance in Fort Washington, PA. She was a member of the Redemption Episcopal Church in Southampton.

Florence was very family oriented and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was an avid reader.

Florence was the beloved wife of Leroy Seneca Gerhart for 32 years before his death in 1985. She was the devoted mother of Kathleen Gerhart-Gibson (Kevin) of Glen Mils, PA and Susan Miles (Tom) of Altoona, PA. She was the loving grandmother Jan O’Rourke , Ryan Calvy, Sarah Franko , Kyle and Zachary Allbright, and Mitchell Miles; great grandmother of Cameron and Andrew O’Rourke. She was the sister of William Hauer and Betty Carlson.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, March 8th from 9 AM to 10:30 AM at the Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home, Street Road & 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. Her service will be at 11 AM at the Redemption Episcopal Church, 1101 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA.
