Igor W. Alfimow died on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at his home. He was 62 years of age. He was the son of the late Wladimir and Nadja Bagen Alfimow. Igor had resided in Philadelphia for the last 60years.
Mr. Alfimow was a Homicide Detective with the Philadelphia Police Department. He retired in 2000 after 31 years with the Department. He had received numerous awards and citations.
Igor was a graduate of Central High School and Temple University. He was a Marine Corps veteran. His interest included NASCAR, hunting, and combat shooting. He enjoyed spending all of his time with his grandchildren.
Igor was the beloved husband of MaryAnn Victor Alfimow for 34 years. He was the devoted father of Ihor Alfimow, the late Michael Alfimow, and the late Heather Alfimow. He was the loving grandfather of Michael and Christopher Alfimow. He is also survived by his brother Valerik Alfimow, his nephews Nicholas and Walter Alfimow, and his mother in-law Alice Victor.
Relatives and friends are invited to call Saturday, February 2from 6 to 9 PM and Sunday February 3 from 2 to 4 PM and 7 to 9 PM at the Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home, Street Rd. & 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA and Monday February 4 from 9 to 9:30 AM at St. Stephen Orthodox Cathedral, 8598 Verree Rd., Philadelphia, PA 19111 . His funeral service will be 9:30 AM. The interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
