Irene Doris Welz

Irene D. Welz died on Monday, January 11, 2016 at the Southampton Estates. She was 87 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Bertha (Essig) Haller. Irene had lived at the Estates for the last 6 years and had previously been a Southampton resident since 1963.

Irene was a homemaker. She was also a former employee of Jesus Focus Ministry in Churchville, Ametek, Inc. in Feasterville and the Southampton Water Authority.

Mrs. Welz was a member of the Advent Lutheran Church in Richboro and the Jesus Focus Ministry in Churchville. She had been a volunteer at Warminster General Hospital, and was active with a singing group at Jesus Focus Ministry. She enjoyed reading, traveling, sewing, needlecrafting and quilting.

Irene was the beloved wife of Harry C. Welz for 48 years before his death in 1996. She was the devoted mother of Stephen G. Welz (Beth) of Shillington, PA, Karen L. Schmitt of Warminster, Valerie G. Keeble (Bill) of Warminster and Peter M. Welz (Caroline) of Doylestown. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Erica Schmitt, Mark Stump (Emily), Kirstin Dawson (Jeff), Julia Wolfe (Brian), David Stump (Andrea), Tim Keeble, Meredith Maslonka (Aaron), Brett Keeble, and 5 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Saturday, January 16th from 10:00 AM. to 11:00 AM. at the Advent Lutheran Church, Worthington Mill Rd. & Second Street Pike, Richboro, PA 18954. Her Memorial Service will follow at 11:00 AM.
