Jeanette Ruth Macht (nee Skeirik), age 98, passed away on September 9, 2026 at the Ann's Choice Community in Warminster, PA due to complications from dementia. Jeanette was a long-time resident of Feasterville, PA and Davenport, FL.
Jeanette was born in Kirkwood, New York, to parents Habeeb Skeirik and Adma Moghabghab, the youngest of three children and the only daughter. She received her BA degree from West Virginia Wesleyan College. After graduation she worked for the U.S. Department of State in Washington D.C., where she met Walter A. Macht. They married Oct. 2, 1954 in Binghamton, NY and settled in Feasterville, PA, raising three children and staying in close contact with family in the greater Philadelphia area, Virginia, and Massachusetts.
Jeanette was an accomplished classical pianist and organist and participated in the church choir and the hand bell choir. She passed her legacy and love of music on to her children. In addition, she was an avid reader, enjoyed the arts of needle point and beadwork, and was a member of the Red Hat Society. Jeanette and Walt traveled extensively in the U.S., Europe, and the Middle East enjoying the opportunity for new experiences and to witness the history of the world in buildings, monuments, and archeological sites.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter A. and her oldest son Walter D. Macht. Jeanette is survived by her daughter, Dr. Betsy Macht (Steve Senderling) and youngest son, Peter L. Macht, and her grandchildren, Benjamin and Matthew.
A public visitation will be held at North Southampton Reformed Church, 1380 Bristol Road, Southampton, Pennsylvania, on September 19, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a funeral service at the same location from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.
A private committal service will take place at Rosedale Memorial Park, 3850 Richlieu Road, Bensalem, Pennsylvania, 19020,
