Born and raised in the Mayfair section of Philadelphia, Joan was a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School, Class of 1954.
In 1958, Joan married Hugh W. McColl. They began their life together and moved out to Bucks County in 1966. She has lived in Southampton for the past 52 years.
Joan worked for 17 years in the Outpatient Department at Holy Redeemer Hospital.
In her free time, she was passionate about gardening, enjoyed sewing and loved playing tennis.
Joan is survived by her husband of 60 years, Hugh W. McColl, her daughter and son-in-law, Karen McColl and Kurt Hofmann of Vidalia, GA, her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Roy Kershaw of Chalfont, PA, her son, Hugh A. McColl of Southampton, PA, her five grandchildren, Patrick Hofmann, Andrew Kershaw, Katie (Alex) Collins, Maggie Hofmann and Ashley Kershaw. She was preceded in death by her twin brother, Joel Hanna. She has four surviving siblings John (Mimi) Hanna of Kansas, Binnie (Gerry) Flinn of Southampton, PA, twin brothers William (Rose) and Robert Hanna of New Jersey, and her sister-in-law, Rita Hanna of Delaware.
Friends and relatives are invited to gather on Sunday, March 25, 2018 from 11am-12pm at Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home in Southampton. Memorial Services will be held at 12pm.
