Joan M. Rink went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at the Spring House Estates. She was eighty-three years of age. Born in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Florence Breuninger. Joan had lived at the Estates for the past five years. She was previously a longtime resident of Churchville, PA.
Mrs. Rink was a faithful pastor’s wife for over forty years. She was a loving and devoted daughter, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a cherished friend to many. She was a Jesus follower and loved him with all of her heart and served him with all of her life.
Joan was a graduate of the Pennsylvania State University with an Associate’s degree in secretarial science. She was also a graduate of the Philadelphia Bible College. Mrs. Rink was a Licensed Practical Nurse with a degree from the Clearfield County Vo-Tech School.
During her younger years, she enjoyed teaching after-school bible clubs in her home and in others homes. She gave of her time to help in her husband’s churches in any way that was needed. You could often find her teaching the missionary lesson or helping with crafts during the summer vacation bible schools. Since she lived mainly in rural America; she loved working in her vegetable garden. She loved tilling the soil and reaping the results of what her hard labor brought. She also crocheted and knitted; she baked, and enjoyed picking berries of all sorts. She was a hands-on mom and was never too busy for her children or her friends.
Joan was the beloved wife of Pastor John R. Rink Sr. for almost 62 years. She was the devoted mother of John R. Rink Jr. (Susan) and Joan C. Campbell (Robert). She was the loving grandmother of Alyssa Casper (Ian), Christina Fisher (Ryan), Devon Rink, Ben Rink and Zachary Campbell. She is also survived by her sister, Nona Mothersbaugh and many nieces and nephews; and preceded in death by her brothers Ronald Breuninger, Lewis Breuninger Jr., John Breuninger and Robert Breuninger.
Due to the current heath crisis, Mrs. Rink’s services and interment will be private.
