Born in Philadelphia, he was the only son of Arthur P. Madsen and Margaret Belle Barkley.
John (or Jack) was the beloved husband of Frankie. They shared 67 wonderful years together. He was the best Dad in the world to daughter Johnne-Jean DiMarcantonio and son-in-law Frank.
Frankie and Johnny met in the service. John, in the Army serving in WWII and Korea, and Frankie in the Air Force during WWII.
He was employed by PMA Insurance company for 48 years as an investigator.
From childhood until his retirement and beyond, his passion was sports. He was a self proclaimed "frustrated athlete", participating in football, bowling, golf and his #1 passion, baseball. No matter what, he loved the Phillies.
With Frankie by his side, they loved to travel. Many, many trips with Perkioman Tours and the Benjamin Wilson Senior Center. Together they saw the United States, Egypt, Israel and Denmark. Remembrances of their trips are reflected in his 250+ baseball caps.
He will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Johnny's name may be made to the Benjamin Wilson Senior Activity Center.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.lambfuneralhomeinc.com for the Madsen family.
Services and interment will be private.
