

Joseph A. Canale passed away on Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his residence. He was 85 years of age. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Anthony and Antonietta Canale. He was a longtime resident of Huntingdon Valley since 1971 and of Ocean City NJ since 1987. He had previously lived in Philadelphia.
Mr. Canale was a retired employee of the railroad, working with Amtrak, Reading Railroad, and Conrail. He was a realtor and the owner with his wife of Susan Canale Real Estate and Abstract Appraisal in Southampton, PA. Joseph was a member of the Bucks County Association of Realtors.
He was a Communicant of the Our Lady of Good Counsel Parish in Southampton and a member of the Tacony Lodge # 600 F & AM. Joseph was a Navy veteran and proud of his service on the USS Princeton.
Mr. Canale was active in community service in Ocean City, NJ. He served as the Chairperson of the Annual Ocean City Baby Parade and the Night in Venice Boat Parade for many years along with participating in numerous other events. He dedicated countless hours to a city that he loved. Mr. Canale has received a "piece of the boardwalk" for his dedication.
Joseph was very family oriented and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was well known for his friendly outgoing personality. Everyone who met him, loved him.
Joseph was the beloved husband of Susan A. Canale for forty-two years before her death in 2012. He was the devoted father of Joanne Canale-Simone of Worchester, Joseph A. Canale, Jr. (Daria) of Huntingdon Valley, and the late Shawn Canale. He was the loving grandfather of John E. Simone, Jr., Kiera Blessing, Alexandra Canale, Joseph A. Canale, III, and Elizabeth K. Canale. Mr. Canale was preceded in death by his sister Isabella Canale.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from Ten o’clock in the morning on the 9th of March at the Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home, Street Road & 2nd Street Pike, Southampton, PA 18966. His memorial service will follow at eleven thirty AM.
