Judy McGovern

Judy was born on June 27, 1938 in Mahanoy City, PA, to parents, Charles and Emily (Williams) Haldeman.

She graduated in 1960 from Gettysburg College with a Bachelors of Science in Music Education. She started her career teaching music in the Baltimore school district. Later in her career Judy transitioned to child day care, going on to establish St. Mary’s Childcare Center and running its operations as director. She finished her career running the non-profit William Penn Center.

Judy loved vacationing at the beach in Ocean City, NJ and sharing her love of children and animals.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Jan (Haldeman) Rooney; her loving husband, Dan McGovern of 36 years.

Judy is survived by her brother, Jere Haldeman (Michele); her two sons, Christopher McGovern (Mark Brady) and Scott McGovern (Marta); and her two granddaughters, Emily and Gillian McGovern.

Private graveside funeral service will be limited to family at Newtown Cemetery, 600 Newtown Yardley Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
