I was so sad to hear of the passing of Fred and Marianne. Our next door neighbors for over 20 years and the nicest neighbors you could ask for. Often I would hear Fred playing his music, and we both grew tomatoes. He was very tolerant of our noisy kids, and barking dog. A very kind and wonderful neighbor.

On behalf of the Hanhauser family, for my father Al who worked at The Budd Company and knew Fred personally, and from myself ,...who was actually hired by Fred in 1984 just before receiving my Die Tryout apprenticeship, I wanted to offer sincere condolences on Fred’s passing and your family’s loss at this time, ...but in kind words I can offer assurance that he is not forgotten all these years later, for affording the opportunity to me , begin my work in what is now a 34 +year career. For it not in Fred providing my start at Budd, and seeing a potential in me, my trade & profession may very well have been quite different. With sincere thanks to Fred, and I am sure to his wife for her years of support in his 39 years at Budd, I only wanted to say ....that to this day I appreciate and have never forgotten how Fred assisted in starting my automotive body engineering career. Prayers and thoughts to the Gieseler Family, Fred will not be forgotten by those who worked with him. Sincerely, Alfred M. Hanhauser III, Mercedes Benz Body Dimensional Engineering, (MBUSI), Tuscaloosa, Alabama

Dear Steve and Nancy,
I watched the video and was awestruck at the love your father built while here on earth with you all. I am so sorry for your loss but know he will live on in all of the memories you all made as a family. All my best, Laurie
