

Raymond F. Lewis died on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Hospital in Meadowbrook. He was 83 years of age. Born in Orange, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Harold S. and F. Alice Wilkinson Lewis. Raymond was a longtime resident of Southampton.
Raymond was the beloved husband of Caryl A. Landgraf Lewis for sixty-one years. He was the devoted father of Lynne C Tornetta (James) of Browns Mills NJ, Christine A Raffle (Andy) of Yardley, Thomas J. Lewis of Miami, FL, Frances R. Hill (Alan) of Willow Grove and Rodger S Lewis (Mary) of Fairless Hills. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren – Matthew D, Paul A, Andrea R, Alicia M, Acacia L, Jesse R, Travis D, Joshua A, Pamela R, Zachariah R, Jeremiah M, Kristianna M and three great grandchildren – David, Chloe, and Savannah.
Mr. Lewis was a retired Senior Claims Consultant. He had been employed by The Prudential Insurance Company of America since 1960, working in the Newark, NJ, Fort Washington, and Horsham Offices throughout his career.
Raymond was a graduate of Upsala College in East Orange, NJ. While attending Upsala he met his future wife, Caryl A. Landgraf Lewis. They were married in 1956 when he was in the Army and stationed in Hawaii.
Ray was an avid gardener, supplying is family with fresh vegetables during the summer. Since his retirement, he took up Hydroponic Gardening and Greenhouse Gardening. He was a lifetime fan of the New York Giants and was a frequent contributor to the Giant Insider newspaper, critiquing games and writing up color commentary. He was lovingly known to them as Raypa (Ray from PA). He and Caryl travelled quite extensively after his retirement, visiting 35 countries, often on river cruises through Europe. He loved Indy Car and NASCAR racing and attended the Indy 500 and Brickyard 500 a number of times. Ray enjoyed volunteering for the AARP 55 Alive program as a Driver Safety Instructor for many years and loved this volunteer position.
Mr. Lewis’s service and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations in his name be made to the USO or the Disabled American Veterans Organization.
