

Raymond "Ray" E. Stanford, Jr., 85, long time resident of Southampton and Warminster, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at Abington Hospital on August 10, 2025. Ray was born in Philadelphia to Raymond and Florence Stanford on January 17, 1940.
Ray attended St. Martin of Tours Elementary School and graduated from Frankford High School.
Ray worked for Philadelphia Gear Works as a machinist for 45 years before retiring.
He was involved in scouting from the age of eight until he retired as scout leader of Troop 100 St. Martin of Tours. He was a lover of dogs - raising many German Shepherds and training them for shows. He loved going target shooting with his many friends at Classic Pistol in Southampton, PA.
Ray was a most selfless, caring, compassionate and loving human being. A life well lived, a life most loved.
Ray was preceded in death by his mother, Florence Stanford, father, Raymond Stanford Sr., sisters, Joan McKeown and Joyce Stanford, nephew, Donnie Danson, and brother-in-law, Cdr. John Chesire.
He is survived by his sister, Cathy Chesire of San Diego, nieces, Debbie (Dave) Post and Suzanne Chesire, nephew, Ryan (Adelaida) Chesire, great nieces, Jackie (Mike) Hawkins, Jenny (Dennis) Rypinsky, great nephews, Matthew and Joshua Chesire and great-great nephews, Jacob and Cody Hawkins, Chase Rypinsky and great-great niece, Riley Rypinsky.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Raymond which will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home, 659 Street Road, Southampton, PA 18966. Followed by the funeral service from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Burial will occur at 12:15 PM at Resurrection Cemetery, 5201 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020.
