Sloan F. DiCampello, Jr., 71, passed away at home with his family on August 30, 2018. He was born in Philadelphia to Sloan F. DiCampello, Sr., and Nellie (nee Yankunus). He attended Lincoln High School, after which he took courses at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Business. Sloan’s career as a ceramic tile contractor and public adjuster lasted more than 50 years.
An avid Civil War buff and Philadelphia sports fan, Sloan loved fishing, coin collecting and metal detecting. He loved his summer days in Ocean City and Somers Point, New Jersey. He enjoyed Caribbean vacations with his family. Sloan was an animal lover and never turned away the many cats, dogs and other creatures that his family brought home.
Sloan is survived by his wife of 43 years Karen M. DiCampello (nee Dover), and his children Mark Sloan DiCampello and Karen S. Kuyper (JohnPaul). He is also survived by his brother Henry DiCampello and sister AnnMarie Lahm (John) and many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The DiCampello family will hold a celebration of life in the near future, the details of which will most likely be shared via Facebook. Donations in Sloan’s memory can be made to the Bucks County SPCA, the American Cancer Society and the D’Angelo Foundation.
