
Vera Yancey passed away on Friday June 3, 2011 at the Holy Redeemer Hospice in Meadowbrook, PA. She was 77 years of age. Born in New York, New York, she was the daughter of the late Nathan and Marion Taylor Garvin. Vera was a resident of Warminster, PA for the past 5 years. She had previously lived in Philadelphia.
Mrs. Yancey was a retired Register Nurse. She was a former employee of Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia. She was a graduate of Mercy Douglas Nursing School.
Vera was devoted to her family. She enjoyed singing and had performed with the Lincoln Boys Choir and the Lincoln Glee Club.
Vera was the beloved wife of Arthur Yancey before his death in 1991. She was the devoted mother of Lisa Yancey (and her husband the late Francis Garcia) of East Stroudsburg, PA and Karen Yancey (and her husband Carlos M. Lucero) of Warminster, PA. She was the loving grandmother of Morgan Lucero, Malachi Garcia, and Anthony Clark. She is also survived by her sister Marion Fisher of Flanders, NJ, her aunt Eleanor Fisher Los Vegas, NV and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Service and interment are to be held privately.
