For the past 21 years, Alma greatly enjoyed making the coastal area of Leland and Southport home, where she and her husband Philip J. Bouchard celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 9, 2023. North Carolina was always home, with Alma being from Lexington, NC, and raising her family in Shelby and Kings Mountain, NC. Alma was one of six children (Jack, Alma, Velma, John Robert, Linda, Zeb) born to June C. Little and Jeane H. Little, in Lexington. Alma is preceded in death by her father June, her mother Jeane, and brothers Jack and John Robert.
Alma and Philip were blessed with two children and three grandchildren: Joseph C. Bouchard (Leigh Anne), Branson, and Sarah Anne; and Leslie B. Stanley (David) and Alexis B. Stanley. Alma’s family was her true pride and joy, and she was, and will always be, equally treasured by them.
Alma’s family takes great comfort in knowing that she is in God’s glorious presence! Alma’s true spirit of kindness, generosity, and selflessness was shared with so many; there is not a day that will go by that she will not be truly missed.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 15, 2023, at 2:00pm, at Trinity United Methodist Church (209 E. Nash St., Southport, NC) where Alma and Phil are members and enjoyed fellowship and worship with many friends. Alma’s family will have a time of visitation and remembrances immediately following the service, in Trinity’s fellowship hall.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes memorial contributions to be made in Alma’s name to Camp Joy at Bonclarken (mailing: 918 South Pleasantburg Dr., Suite 127, Greenville, SC 29607 or campjoy.net). Camp Joy is a Christian camp serving those with special needs; the NC campus is located at the Bonclarken Conference Center, Flat Rock, NC.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.peacocknewnamwhite.com for the Bouchard family.
