Mrs. Ash was born April 21, 1935, in Washington, DC, daughter of the late William and Josephine Clark. She wanted to be remembered as a positive person and a hard worker. She enjoyed the outdoors, entertaining, and spending time with her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by her many friends and family members.
She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Szybura and husband Bernie; three grandchildren, Christopher Szybura, Sarah Szybura, and Maggie Rutledge; two great-grandchildren, Ash Rutledge and Isabella Garcia; two sisters, Patsy McLellan and Mary Jack Goldfeder; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Stanley Ash; and a son, William Howard Rutledge.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 5, 2026 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel.
