Mrs. Leonard was born December 17, 1956 in Craven County, North Carolina, daughter of Paul Johnson, Sr. and Hilma Piner Johnson. She graduated from Southern High School in Durham, North Carolina and attended classes at Durham Community College. Mrs. Leonard received a diploma from Rhema Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Belinda had a varied career always in the service of others. Her last position was secretary at Southport Baptist Church but had to leave this position because of failing health. She was preceded in death by a brother, Hiram “Jake” Johnson.
Survivors in addition to her parents include her husband Wayne Daniel Leonard and her brother, Paul D. Johnson, Jr.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Southport Baptist Church Chapel.
