

Mrs. Rodgers was born in Brunswick County on January 5, 1934 and was the daughter of the late Oscar and Linnie Mae McDowell Johnson. She was a lifelong member of Mill Creek Baptist Church. She was a talented Photo Colorist and worked for Belk’s and various other studios throughout her career. She was employed with Courtland Manufacturing of Appomattox, Virginia for 10 years and then returned home to Bolivia and was employed with the city of Bald Head Island in the human resource department.
She is survived by her husband, Lester B. Rodgers; three children, Phillip S. Hogan (Heather) of Bedford, Va., Donna Alise “Lisie” Stephenson (Marshall) of Carolina Beach, Duane B. Hogan (Donna) of Castle Hayne; five grandchildren, Kyle Hogan, Lindsay Hogan, Brandon Kirby, Christina Kirby, Jasara Hogan; a great grandchild, Ashly Gray Hogan; a sister, Shirley Cox of Richlands, NC
Funeral Services will be held Monday July 27th 2015 at 2pm at Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, Wilmington, NC with Reverend Jack Edge officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 this evening at Peacock-Newnam &White Funeral Service, 1411 N. Howe Street, Southport.
In Lieu of flowers the family request memorials be directed to Lower Cape Fear Hospice and Life Care Center, 1414 Physicians Dr., Wilmington, NC 28401.
