Breege was born on 27 November 1939 in Dublin, Ireland to John and Delia McCoy. Breege is survived by her companion of 40 years, Russell Beck, her son, Charles, her daughter-in-law, Maria, and two granddaughters, Sofia and Keira.
Breege lived life to the fullest and on her own terms. She left Ireland and after traveling extensively, settled in the US, initially in New York City. Breege was known to be fiercely loyal, tell grand stories, and “slag” (Irish) with the best of them.
Her professional years were dedicated to supporting hospice patients and their families through their final moments as a CNA. Many of her former colleagues were there to support her in her own final days.
Breege’s retirement years were focused on long walks, gardening, great conversations and her grand-daughters. She could walk for miles or garden for hours. Her energy didn’t wane. She will be missed by many who envied her strength and determination. We ask that you do not mourn her passing but celebrate her life and accomplishments.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Breege’s memory (NOTE: Breege McCoy parent of Chas and Maria Sanders ‘1993) may be made to the George School Fund online at www.georgeschool.org/donate or by mail at George School Advancement Office, PMB 4438, 1690 Newtown Langhorne Road, Newtown, PA 18940-2414.
