Bruce Barton Coombs

Bruce was born May 29, 1938, in Jeffersonville, Indiana. He was a 1956 graduate of Jeffersonville High School, and he attended Indiana University in Bloomington. He retired from Phillip Morris after working for 35 years as a devoted employee. Bruce was an avid golfer, dedicated IU basketball fan, and wine enthusiast.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years Dale Coombs; two sons, Andrew Thomas Coombs of Wilmington, NC, and Joshua Parker Coombs of Southport, NC; two daughters, Kathy Coombs of Clarksville, IN, and Julie Lander and husband Greg of Jeffersonville, IN; two granddaughters, Lindsey Dingeldein and husband Patrick of Cincinnati, OH, and Stephanie Lander of Indianapolis, IN; a great-granddaughter, Marybel Dingeldein; a sister Carol Ellis of Clarksville, IN; a nephew, Scott Peyton; and three nieces, Paula Hardin, Pamela Piatt, and Sandy Sorrells.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 8, 2016 in the Peacock –Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service until 4:00 pm.
