Carmen Esther Manuel age 99 of Southport, North Carolina passed away July 3rd, 2021. Carmen was born July 14th, 1921 in the island Puerto Rico. Mother-of-eight children, wife of her late husband Jose Manuel. She is survived by 7 of her eight children; Evelyn Panoff, Lydia Vazquez, Eve Manuel, Jenny Manuel, Jose Manuel, Johnny Manuel and, Robert Manuel. And, Georgina Manuel who preceded Carmen's death. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Carmen enjoyed relaxing under a shaded tree at the waterfront in Southport. She loved playing the slot machines at the casino.
One of her favorite phrases in Spanish was "Siempre Pa-lante" which means keep moving forward.
Carmen truly lived by those words. She never let anything keep her down even under adverse conditions.
She will truly be missed by family and friends.
