Carol Ritter Ewell

Mrs. Ewell was born November 22, 1941 in Macungie, Pennsylvania. Carol was the daughter of the late Robert Joel and Winifred Viola Ritter. In 1952 she moved to Easton, Maryland with her family and graduated from Easton High School in 1959 then went on to attend nursing school in Easton, Maryland. She went into the banking industry in 1965 and was the Branch Manager for the National Bank of Cambridge on Woods Road. In 1982, she was installed as an officer of the Eastern Shore Group of The National Association of Bank Women as Treasurer. She retired in 1988 for medical reasons. Carol was a member of Warsaw Methodist Church in Warsaw, North Carolina. She had many hobbies including gardening, ceramics, and working with stained glass but her favorite was loving and caring for her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a son, Mark R. Ewell who died on April 30, 1996 and a brother Joel H. Ritter on October 16, 2002.

Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Perry T. Ewell, Jr. of Southport; one son, Michael P. Ewell of River Forest, Illinois; one daughter, Wendy K. Ewell of Oak Island; two sisters, Babette D. Greenwood of Hertford, North Carolina and Sharon Quidas of Preston, Maryland; two brothers, Sgt. Major Robert D. Ritter of Oak Island, North Carolina and David L. Ritter of Mathews, Virginia; three grandchildren, Zachary T. Ewell, Alexander M. Ewell, and Grace L. Ewell.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service Chapel in Southport, North Carolina.

Visitation with a reception will be from 1-2pm at the funeral home.
