Mr. Jackson was born May 31, 1949 to the late Charles Franklin Jackson and Erma Lee Harding Jackson. Chuck battled several health issues over the past couple of years and is now at Peace in Heaven. His beloved wife Paula was by his side as he passed peacefully gaining his own wings.
Chuck grew up an Army brat, having lived all over the US and Ankara, Turkey. He was a Boy Scout, and a private aerobatic pilot. Chuck and Paula moved to St. James from Chicago in 2011, two years before Chuck's retirement from Motorola after 40 years of service. Prior to Chicago, Chuck and Paula lived in California. Chuck was an avid fisherman and boater and long-time leader of the St. James Fishing Club, serving as President, Vice-President and webmaster. Chuck served on the Town's Emergency Management Team. He was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, where he handled audio-visual needs. Chuck was also active in the Wilmington Model Flying Club and served as webmaster and judge for flying events. In his spare time, Chuck liked to play golf. He enjoyed traveling and took over 30 cruises. Above all, Chuck was a good and caring friend, loving husband and father.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Paula Sue Jackson; a daughter Tiffany Jackson and boyfriend Jonathan York; a brother Scott Harding Jackson; and a sister Kathryn Jackson Larsen.
