Mrs. Newton was born in Hammond, Indiana, daughter of the late Frank and Ethel Kapornia Fazekas. She was a graduate of Hammond Indiana Technical High School. Mrs. Newton was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Newton was preceded in death by her husband Samuel Pinner Newton.
Survivors include her son, Frank Newton and wife Michelle of Wheatfield, Indiana; daughter, Cristy Franks and husband Chris of Boiling Spring Lakes; sisters, Ethel DiNoto and husband Ronald of Holly Lake Branch, Texas and Yolanda Marik and husband Charles of Richmond, Illinois; uncle, John Fazekas of South Holland, Illinois; three grandchildren, Lindsey Moyer, Ashley Loomis, and Samuel Newton; and three great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
