Craig Shoemaker
May 23, 1956 – February 20, 2021
Craig Shoemaker, 64, of Southport, NC, passed away on February 20, 2021 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center after unexpected heart failure.
Craig was born on May 23, 1956 in Albany, GA and was raised in Northern Virginia. He received a Bachelor’s of Computer Science from the University of Richmond and enjoyed a career as a software developer. He was an avid classical music lover and composer.
Craig was preceded in death by his father, Charles W. Shoemaker, and his brother, Clifford R Shoemaker. He is survived by a grieving mother, Ginny Campbell, and three first cousins, Teri Kozub, Monica Fernandez, and Tony Leone.
A private ceremony for the family is planned.

Our condolences to Ginny. and her family. I will fondly remember my many discussions with Craig regards some of his favorite topics. He was a researacher extraordinare with his attention to detail and knowledge. He will be missed.

None of us wanted to have a holiday dinner or any get together unless Craig was there to play games . He added so much warmth, laughter and fun to any activity. He will be missed by many family members and friends. We will cherish all those years of happy memories we had with him.

Craig had a twinkle in his eye, a beautiful smile and infectious laughter.
I’ll always remember watching our dancing cousins, Craig and Cliff, in the Nutcracker when we were kids. It was magical.
Craig was one of the most charming men I’ve ever known.
