Curtis Richard Beadle

April 12, 1956July 7, 2019

Curtis R. Beadle (63) passed away July 7, 2019 after a very brief battle with cancer.

Curt was born in Schenectady, NY on April 12, 1956, the son of Robert G. and Marilyn L (Johnson) Beadle. He received his Bachelors in Electrical and Biomedical Engineering from Duke University. He went on to attend UNC Chapel Hill where he received his MBA.

He met his wife, Jean Saunders Beadle, while they were both living and working in Charlotte, NC. Curt and Jean settled in Roxbury, ME where Curt worked as an engineer at the local paper mill. They raised two children, Robert S. Beadle and Stephanie L. Beadle. Curt enjoyed spending time outdoors with his family and designed and helped build a small cabin on Moosehead Lake in northern Maine. Curt and Jean happily retired in 2015, became residents of Oak Island, NC and spent their summers “upta camp” at Moosehead Lake. Curt loved both inland and coastal boating. He was so proud when he obtained his captain’s license in 2018.

Curt was predeceased by his son, Robert S. Beadle in 2004.

Curt is survived by his wife of over 37 years, Jean of Oak Island, NC, his daughter Stephanie of Portland, ME, his parents Robert and Marilyn of Schenectady, NY, his sister Nancy Beadle of Clifton Park, NY, as well as many cousins, nieces, and a nephew.

The Beadle family will reach out to loved ones in the future regarding a gathering to celebrate Curt’s life.

Curt was a shining light at DCV. I know we were all so challenging but he was a trooper and supported all of us. I will miss our afternoons on the exceptionally clean boat drinking beer in the marina with he, Jean and Bandita. I will forever glance to the left from our deck expecting to see him on your patio. Love to all of you, Jean, Steph and Bandita!!!
