Cindy was born in Tampa, Florida, on February 10, 1954 and grew up in Brandon, where she was raised by her parents, Clinton and Betty (Baugh) Bass, alongside her brother Larry. She graduated from Brandon High School class of 1972 and later built a life filled with family, faith, and community. After raising her son Rob in Brandon, FL she lived in San Jose, CA, and Jupiter Beach, FL. She married Joe 16 years ago and they lived together in Boca Royale in Englewood, FL and St James in Southport, NC.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Cindy had a generous spirit and a gift for making others feel loved and welcome.
She was happiest near the water—enjoying sunsets, spending time at the beach, collecting shells, and hosting family and friends at her family beach house on Anna Maria Island, FL. Cindy had a talent for cooking delicious meals, and found joy in simple moments—watching football, playing golf, riding horses, caring for her beloved dog or watching her grandchildren grow. She loved traveling and recently returned from trips with Joe to Greece, Australia and New Zealand and had just planned to return to Capri, Italy next year to celebrate his milestone birthday. She was active in her bible study, pickleball group, and serving in missionary work with her Bell Shoals Church community in Brandon, FL.
Cindy’s greatest joy in life was her family. She will be deeply missed by her loving and devoted husband Joe Damato; her son, Robert Fallon (Jana); her step-daughter, Danielle Damato Johnson (Chuck); and her beloved grandchildren, Carter Fallon, Amelia Fallon, Adyson Johnson, CJ Johnson, and Mylia Johnson. She is survived by her brother, Larry Bass (Sylvia); nieces and nephews; members of the Damato family, the Bass families, and many dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to a remembrance service on Saturday, July 12th at 1:00 PM at Bell Shoals Church, located at 2102 Bell Shoals Road, Brandon, Florida 33511.
The family asks for prayers and support during this difficult time as they grieve the unexpected loss of someone so cherished.
Cindy will be remembered for her warmth, laughter, kindness, and the love she shared so generously with those around her.
