Cynthia “Cindy” Dozier Prosnak, 62 of St. James, NC and formerly Harlem, GA, passed away on May 18, 2018 in the hospital near her home in Southport, NC. She succumbed to complications of pneumonia during her battle with breast cancer.
Cindy was born October 26, 1955 to William Perry Dozier, Sr. and Jeanne Byington Dozier. She was preceded in death by her father. Cindy was accepted to Emory University at the age of 15 and became a registered nurse, a career that perfectly matched her passion to care for others. She was a Methodist and lived her life exemplifying God’s grace and kindness in her every interaction. Cindy was remarkable in her love of reading and art, and was known for her unparalleled creativity. Her trademark was her deep empathy and understanding of other people, and a thoughtfulness beyond comparison.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband and best friend of 41 years, Mark Prosnak; her adoring daughter Jenni Bruckman and son-in-law Paul; her devoted brother William “Sport” Dozier, Jr. and sister-in-law Cheryl; her loving mother Jeanne Dozier; and a host more of family and loyal and close friends spread far and wide.
