Cynthia Ann "Cindy" Zarella

Cindy was born November 12, 1960 in New York, daughter of the late Giulio and Nasinia Rossi Zarella. She was raised in the Bronx and moved with her parents to Charlotte in 2002. In 2005, she moved to Life Incorporated Independent Living in Supply, NC. Cindy was active in Special Olympics; she enjoyed dancing, coloring, puzzles, and making arts and crafts.

Survivors include her brother, Stephen Zarella and wife Annie; a sister, Juliet Burns and husband Jim; two nephews, Christopher Zarella and Peter Zarella and fiancee Laura; and four nieces, Nicole Levy and husband Marc, Narja Calvar and husband Peppie, Tracy Till and husband Kevin, and Kelly Lenat and husband Brian; and four great nieces and nephews.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 1, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport. Burial will follow in the Northwood Cemetery. Following the burial, there will be a reception at the church.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus Sacred Heart Church, Operation LAMB (Least Among My Brethren) 5269 Dosher Cutoff SE, Southport, NC 28461 from the Knights, donations will go to Special Olympics. Please note that the donation was made in memory of Cynthia Ann Zarella.
