He was born in Wilkesboro, NC on December 15, 1961 the son of Mary Sparks Ferris of Southport and the late Jack O. Sparks.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Kimberley G. Sparks of the home; a step-son, John Dwight Thompson, III and wife, of Longwood, NC; a brother, David Sparks of Yadkinville, NC; a sister, Wendy Collins of Winston Salem, NC; two grandchildren, Kinsleigh Rayne Thompson, and John Dwight Thompson, IV.
A celebration of his life will be held later in the Spring.
