Debra Marie Sasser

Ms. Sasser was born September 5, 1957 the daughter of the late Ernest and Grace Thomas. She was a cook for many years at Edna’s Kitchen and Beana’s Kitchen on Oak Island. She loved spending time with her family, and attended church at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include her husband Danny Virgil Sasser; two sons, Daniel Virgil Sasser and wife Angela of Southport, and Billy Jack Sasser and wife Kirby of Winnabow; a daughter Tammie Marie Sasser of Southport; a brother George Ray Thomas; two sisters, Alma Hayes, and Sherry Allen; twelve grandchildren, Lilly Ann Pruitt, Austin Sasser, Justin Sasser, Evelyn Sasser, Gavin James Sasser, Tyler Jack Sasser, Jenna Lynn Clark, Dannilynn Sasser, Alyssa James, Maddilynn Sasser, Maria Salas, and Brianna Salas; three great-grandchildren, Karmin Pruitt, JR Pruitt, Luke Pruitt; several nieces, nephews, and many other extended family members. Preceding her in death was a brother Ernie Thomas, and a sister Fay King.

The family will have visitation on Monday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Peacock – Newnam & White Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church with Reverend Charles Drew officiating.
