Glenn was born September 14, 1945, son of the late Douglass Edward Park and Bettie - Martin Park. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents as well as his brother William Martin Park.
Glenn graduated High School from Oakridge Military School and then attended University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, NC. He joined the US Army in 1967 and served in Vietnam 1967–1968 as Commander of the 108th Division of the 3rd US Army. Glenn was honorably discharged in 1971 after being promoted to Reserve Commissioned Officer as Captain and was awarded the Bronze Star.
Glenn spent most of his career traveling extensively in telecommunications sales, but his lifelong passion was serving others. After moving to Southport in 2013, he continued this dedication by transitioning from his work with the Red Cross in Colorado to Emergency Management Operations in St. James.
Glenn met Maggie at Lookout Mountain Community Church in Golden, CO where they were married and began a life together serving the Lord. He was an active member of Generations
Church in Southport and served on the Security Team. He was a firm believer in Christ and loved spending time in fellowship and bible study with his small group.
Glenn loved the mountains of Colorado, hiking and camping often. He enjoyed sailing in Texas and Michigan with family and friends. He loved scuba diving in the Caribbean and Virgin Islands. He jumped out of perfectly good airplanes in the Army and loved a chili slaw dog from Eric's in Southport.
Glenn suffered a major stroke in May 2024, changing his active lifestyle, but he never gave up fighting to recover. His struggles continued and he joined the Lord in peace and comfort surrounded by family and prayers. He was loved by so many family and friends. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him.
Well done good and faithful servant.
