Edith Muncy Brown, 88, of Boiling Spring Lakes passed away Thursday, May 10, 2018 at SECU Hospice of Brunswick.
Mrs. Brown was born in Hyden, Kentucky on April 5, 1930, daughter of the late Vincent Muncy and Florence Couch Muncy. She was a strong woman of God who was very active in the church as a musician and singer which were two of her many talents. Preceding her in death was her husband, James “Jimmy” Brown, son James Eugene Brown, a grandson Vincent Edward Brown, three sisters, and five brothers.
Mrs. Brown is survived by her daughter Patricia Howard and husband Eddie; granddaughter, Tracey Clark and husband Scott; grandson, Kenneth "Bubba" Howard; great-grandson, Robert "Koty" Howard and wife Lauryn; and a great-granddaughter Kenley Howard. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law Beverly Brown; granddaughter, Amy Brown and husband Michael Tyler; two great-granddaughters, Jennifer Cumbee and Nikole Brown; and a great-grandson, Vincent Brown; sister, Polly Lewis; and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 4:00 pm in the funeral home chapel.
The funeral service will be held at 4:00 pm on Monday, May 14, 2018 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel with granddaughter Tracey Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Northwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Koty Howard, Bubba Howard, Joe Campanello, Scott Cark, Jerry Edward Rivenbark, and Eddie Howard.
