Mrs. Kesmodel was born on March 5, 1942, daughter of the late Robert Lee Newell and Laura Lee Ludlum. She retired from the North Carolina Department of Parole and Probation where she had worked for more than 20 years. She enjoyed spending time at Myrtle Beach with her family.
She is survived by her two sons, Daniel Butler and wife Tammy, and David Butler; a granddaughter, Heidi Butler; a grandson, Caleb Butler; a sister, Ellen Richards; and several nieces.
Mrs. Kesmodel was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Kesmodel; and a sister, Barbara Moore.
The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 2, 2026 in the Peacock - Newnam & White Funeral Home Chapel. The family will have visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and burial will follow the service at Northwood Cemetery.
