Mr. Green was born in Whiteville, NC on July 28, 1925 to the late William Caswell Green and Cubie Walker Green. He was raised in Columbus County and entered into the US Navy where he served in the Pacific Theater during WWII aboard the USS Slater, a destroyer escort. Mr. Green was a carpenter, and had done cabinet work for many years. In 1972, he went to work as a millwright at the nuclear power plant in Southport. He enjoyed fishing, had studied horticulture, and always grew a beautiful garden.
Mr. Green was preceded in death by his wife Patricia Ruth Green; two brothers, William Archie Green and Quinton Green; and three sisters, Bertha Ward, Ethel Smith, and Dana Harwood.
Survivors include seven sons, Jimmy Green, George Gary Green, Richard Green, Joseph Green, Stephen Green, Keith Green, Sr., and Kenny Green; a daughter, Marie Green; a sister, Juanita Tedder; eleven grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Mr. Green will be buried at Hillcrest Cemetery in Lake Waccamaw, NC.
