George Elbert VanCott Jr.

He was born on November 19, 1934, the son of the late George VanCott and Jane Carlson VanCott. George grew up in Mount Vernon, NY. George was a graduate of Northfield Mount Herman Prep and Cornell University, earning his MBA from the University of Connecticut. George served in the Army National Guard from July 1957 to June 1965. He had a successful career in sales before retiring to St. James Plantation in Southport, NC, where he enjoyed his love of golf and travel.

George is pre-deceased by Barbara, his first wife, his brother Robert, and his sister Jacqueline.

George is survived by his current wife, Faye Sierzant, as well as his five children, Lori (Robert) Oechslin, Thomas (Joanne), Carolyn, John, and Janet (Mark) Domencic. George is also stepfather to David (Brenda) Sierzant and Carolyn Hankins. He has 20 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his stepbrother, Peter VanCott, and stepsister, Andra Pennetto.

The Funeral Mass will be held at 12 Noon on February 13, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southport, NC.
