George Dean Vinovich

June 18, 1957 – July 24, 2026

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of George Dean Vinovich, who entered into eternal rest on July 24, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on June 18, 1957, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dean carried his hometown pride with him throughout his life. He was a devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan whose loyalty to the black and gold never wavered.

Dean was a successful businessman whose determination and strong work ethic earned him great respect. He also had a passion for writing and a gift for putting his thoughts into words. He had several articles published in the local newspaper. While he took pride in his career, nothing brought him greater fulfillment than being a father and grandfather.

Dean was an active, hands-on dad who believed life’s greatest lessons were taught through time spent together. He loved throwing a baseball in the yard, teaching his daughters how to shoot a bow and arrow, and sharing the skills and values that helped shape the women they became. He led by example with patience, encouragement, and unconditional love. He loved both of his daughters and gave them a childhood filled with adventure, guidance, and unwavering support.

His greatest joy in later years was becoming grandpa to his four granddaughters. Oaklee, Olivia, Leah, and Sadie were the light of his life, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them. His love for his family knew no bounds.

George is survived by his daughters, Taylor Vinovich and Ashley Johnston (Joseph); the mother of his daughters, Candice; his beloved granddaughters, Oaklee, Olivia, Leah, and Sadie Johnston; his sister, Linda Jones; and his cherished nieces, Gia Haltiwanger and Simone Weiss, along with extended family members and dear friends who will forever treasure his memory.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, George “Chic” Vinovich and Eileen Coletti Danch, and by his dearly loved sister, Kathleen Danch Weiss. We find comfort in knowing they have welcomed him home with open arms.

Dean’s legacy is one of love, strength, and unwavering devotion to his family. He taught those he loved not only through his words, but through his actions: showing up, giving his time, and always putting family first.

Though our hearts are broken, we are endlessly grateful for the years, the lessons, and the memories we shared with him. His laughter, wisdom, kindness, and unconditional love will remain with us always. While he may no longer walk beside us, his spirit will live on in the lives he shaped and in the family he loved so completely.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten. Burial and memorial service will be private and at a later date.
