

Mrs. Rogers was a loving and compassionate woman. She was affectionately known as “Ga Ga” to many that knew her. Mrs. Rogers was born in Southport, to the late James Clifton and Annie Arnold. She was a member of Southport Presbyterian Church where she served as pianist for many years, starting as the age of nine. She was a former member of the Southport women’s club and the Women of the Moose. Mrs. Rogers was a very creative lady, she enjoyed dancing, sewing, crafts and many other hobbies. She had been the former owner of the Villanova Mobile Home Park; and had worked at Jones Seafood in Wilmington and Oak Island as a hostess and cashier.
Mrs. Rogers was preceded in death by her husband Roscoe Rogers Jr., two sisters Letha Arnold Warth and Janis Arnold Gore; and a daughter –in-law Deanna Sink Orenstein.
Surviving is her son Leo Richard Orenstein of Hertford, North Carolina; daughter Gina Rogers Jones and husband John Jones of Oak Island; two grandchildren, Scarlett O. Grose and husband Matthew of McLean, Virginia, and Megan Jones Wenzel and fiancée Angel Santiago of Hampstead, North Carolina; and four great-grandchildren, Hunter Oates, Carter Grose, Sydney Grose, and Channing Wenzel.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Monday in the Northwood Cemetery. The family will have visitation on Sunday evening from 6 – 8 pm at Peacock – Newnam & White Funeral Home.
