I think I can say for all of his Grandchildren that he was truly our Hero. We adored him…I have so many great memories of fishing and clamming. I can remember when we would get hurt he would just tell us to jump in the ocean, (because salt water cures everything). I can remember being terrified out in a storm on the boat and he was always in control and made us feel safe. The world lost another great man, but I am so thankful that I had the chance to love him and have his love right back. We will miss your big hugs, and great stories. Love you Grandaddy. Xoxoxo Amanda (Banana)😘

Prayers and sympathies to the Spencer family. I missed seeing him in Southport but I know he is in a better place and swapping stories with his friends who have gone before him. He was always kind to me and had a smile that lit up his face. He will be missed.

My condolences to the family and many prayers. It was an honor to know Mr. Spencer from earlier days and also the Southport ABC Board. Thanks for the laughs you gave me from the meetings at the ABC Board and the knowledge I got in that short period of time I was there.
