
Mrs. Evans was born May 3, 1919 in Florence, South Carolina, daughter of the late Edgar Nalley and Mary Stout Nalley. She retired from Sears and Roebuck after 24 years. Mrs. Evans was a member of First Baptist Church in Florence for 50 years before moving to Southport. After her move, she attended Southport Baptist Church where she was a member of the Senior Ladies Sunday School class. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Leigh Evans; brother, Richard L. Nalley; and sister, Shirley N. Morris; and granddaughter, Whitney Locklair Wolter.
Survivors include her daughters Kathryn Holbrook (Richard) of Southport and Deborah Evans-Rose of Kennesaw, Georgia; grandchildren Mimi Holbrook-Hughes and Richard Seth Holbrook; great grandchildren, Kayla and Brennon Lipscomb; and several nieces and nephews.
In accordance to her wishes, no formal service will be held. Inurnment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Florence, South Carolina at a later date.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Ocean Trail Convalescent Center for the nine years of exceptional care given to Mrs. Evans.
