Dear Aunt Marie & Family,
We recently heard that Irv had passed away.  I would echo my brother's comments that Irving was a memorable part of our growing up.  He was always interested in what we had to say, even as little kids, which says a lot about a person in the best way.  I still have his  Bluejackets Manual from 1944 that he gave me (unasked for) when I expressed an interest in militaria, which I know was a meaningful thing for him to have parted with.  Its commonplace, and true, for people to say that they would prefer to have spent more time with a person.  I was and am very proud to be part of the same family. I'm so sorry to learn of Uncle Irving's passing and of your loss.  I was always incredibly fond of Uncle Irving and still remember the exotic "foreign" coins -- from his travels -- that he gave me when I was little.  Wishing you all the best.

Dear Marie and all Irv's family,

   I owe everything I have to the two men who gave me a fair chance in the 70's, and hired me into their section. Irv was one of those men. Irv was knowledgeable, fair, and fun to be with. Thanks for everything Irv, and rest in peace. I hope our paths can cross again someday.

I was Irv caregiver during these last time.  It was a pleaser to get to know him and count him as my adopted grandpa he was a caring person and always thought of his family before himself.  He helped me open my eyes on a lot and I thank him for that and I'm blessed to be part of his life and his family.  Irv, will miss you and thank you for all you have done for us and your country.

My sympathies on your loss. I was fortunate  to know Irv in the Guard. I was with him on many trips. It was always good to be on a crew with Irv. He did his job well, was fun to be with. No matter where we landed, he knew the best places to stay and eat, and was a tour guide for all the places you should see. He never steered us wrong. 
When we meet again I'm sure he'll have the place checked out and will make sure I don't miss anything.

Irv was my Father-inlaw. It was my good luck to have known him and have him in my life. He was the kind of man people use as an example when they are trying to explain how someone should be. He was always ready to help, and always did more than his share.He was a perfect example of what we have come to know as the "Greatest Generation" Rest well, Irv, you have more than earned it.

Irv Green was a great friend of mine, we met in the NJANG while he was in Stan Eval and generally gave me check rides and the sort.  We continued our friendship in retirement and traveled many places together, both in the service and during retirement, sometimes with our spouses, sometimes alone.  Irv was the perfect "buddy" as he was up to anything anytime, he will be greatly missed.
