Mr. Carden was born July 15, 1951 in Alamance County, NC; the son of the late Lucius and Virginia Dare Carden. Jimmy was a long time Oak Island resident, having moved here in 1973. He loved NASCAR, fishing, and Golf. Jimmy was a gifted artist, he enjoyed painting, woodworking, and tinkering in his shed.
Survivors include a son, James "Jay" Carden, Jr. and wife Stephanie; a daughter Aleah Maranda Carden Langley; two sisters, Virginia Ingold and husband Larry, and Mary Carden; nephews, Wayne, David, and Stephen Carden; nieces, Diane Carden Conroy, and Danielle Griswold; close friends Ron and Donna Harvel; and many friends, and extended family members. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Larry Carden and Douglas Carden.
A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
