Jenny was born in Norway on April 18, 1934. In 1951. at the young age of 17, she traveled by ship to Philadelphia to start a new life. She worked hard to put herself through Cosmetology school. Soon after graduating, she married the love of her life, Bjorge Spilling and began to build their life and family in Oak Valley, New Jersey.
Jenny often said that her greatest accomplishment was raising her children. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana.
She loved to make her Norwegian recipes, but gardening and animals were her passion. After moving to a small family farm in Kingston, New York, she enjoyed taking care of her goats, chickens, horses and many dogs and cats.
Jenny and Bjorge retired to St. Augustine, Florida and enjoyed many years of fun and sun. They had 56 beautiful years together in marriage. She will be dearly missed and remain forever in our hearts.
She is predeceased by her husband, Bjorge, son Bjorn Erik, and mother Klara Brinchmann.
Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters, Linda Spilling-Markey (David) of Palm Coast, FL., Carol Walker (David) of Beaufort, N.C., Susan Mazza (Anthony) of Poughkeepsie, N.Y., Shirley Duff (Terry) of Southport, N.C.; a son, Glenn Spilling (Christine) of St. Augustine, Fl., her brother Henry Brinchmann (Astrid) of Norway; 18 grandchildren,17 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandson, and many family members in Norway.
