John F. "Jay" Terry

Jay is survived by his wife of 58 years, Janice Herbeck; his daughter, Lori Mathis and husband Jack of Wilmington, NC; his son, Rusty Terry of Oak Island NC; and four grandchildren, Gage Terry (fiance Jordan) of Charleston, SC, Morgan Mathis of Wilmington, NC, Jesse Mathis of Wilmington, NC, and Fisher Terry of Oak Island, NC. He is also survived by his brothers, Jim Terry of Poolesville MD, and Mike Terry (wife Amy) of Running Springs CA; as well as lso many nieces and nephews.

Jay graduated from Purdue University and pursued a career as a health physicist at Nuclear Power Plant. He retired from CP&L (Duke Power). He also taught at South Brunswick High School where he learned a new respect for teachers. Jay's life revolved around his family. He was also a member of BCLEA and enjoyed shooting on his Wednesday morning competitions. Jay will be missed by all of our family, friends, and neighbors.

There will be a celebration of life at a later date to be determined.
