Mr. Dess was born in Queens, New York on July 5, 1932 and was the son of the late Fredrick and Emily Wissler Dess. He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Dess and a son, Joseph Dess. Mr. Dess was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. He was a retired Credit manager.
He is survived by three Children, Barbara Stein and husband James of Bolivia, NC, George Dess and wife Elizabeth of Oak Island, NC and Thomas Dess and wife Cindy of Montauk, New York; eleven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A visitation for Joseph will be held Wednesday, June 28, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Peacock-Newnam & White Funeral and Cremation Service, Southport, NC.
A funeral mass will occur Thursday, June 29, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Southport, NC. An interment will Follow at Cape Fear Memorial Park.
